Tired of Hustling? Here’s How to Switch to a 4-Day Workweek

If you’ve been pushing hard to grow your business from the ground up—scrambling your way to those £3k, £5k, or even £10k months—you’ll know just how much time, energy, and effort that takes. But maybe now you’re starting to feel… well, frazzled.

You’ve done all the things. You’ve made the money. But if your current success feels like it’s trapping you in a non-stop cycle of doing, hustling, and constantly being “on,” then it might be time to rethink what sustainable success really looks like.

Because here’s the truth: the energy it takes to build a business from scratch is not the same energy required to sustain and grow it long term. That early-stage hustle might get you off the ground—but it’s not what keeps you flying.

There is another way. One that gives you breathing space, restores your energy, and still maintains your revenue. It’s called: The 4-Day Workweek.

And no, it’s not about cramming 40+ hours into 4 days. That’s just hustle culture in disguise. This is about getting strategic, cutting the fluff, and working smarter—not harder.

Here’s my 4-step Freedom Formula that’s helped me (and many of my clients) reclaim time and joy in business—without sacrificing results.

Step 1: Survey

Start with a time audit. Track every task in your business for 1–2 weeks. Where is your time going? What’s moving your business forward—and what’s just keeping you busy?

Once you know where your time is really going, you can make better decisions. Ask:

• Is this task generating revenue?

• Do I enjoy doing this?

• Can I automate, delegate, or delete it?

Most people are surprised by how much time they’re wasting. This step alone is eye-opening—and gives you permission to let go of the busywork.

Step 2: Systemise

Anything you do more than once should be systemized. Use templates, workflows, and automations to free up your time and mental energy.

This could be:

• Batch-creating and scheduling content

• Setting up onboarding automations

• Using AI to streamline tasks

Even saving a few hours a week can make a huge difference when you’re moving toward a 4-day work week.

Step 3: Structure

Now it’s time to design your new weekly routine. Start small—maybe you block out Fridays first.

With your survey and systems in place, structure your week to:

• Focus on high-impact tasks

• Avoid overbooking

• Honour your time boundaries

Test your new week, review it, and adjust. It’s not about perfection. It’s about finding a rhythm that works for you.

Step 4: Sustain

To keep this new way of working sustainable, you need to work on your mindset too.

Because choosing a 4-day work week means choosing to challenge hustle culture. It’s choosing to believe:

• You don’t need to work more to earn more

• You’re allowed to rest

• You can grow your business without sacrificing your wellbeing

If you’ve been hustling for years, this shift might feel uncomfortable at first. That’s normal. Keep coming back to the version of your life and business that you want—and build around that.
